چکیده
Axions and axion-like particles (ALPs) are well-motivated low-energy relics of high-energy extensions the Standard Model (SM). We investigate phenomenology an ALP with flavor-changing couplings, present a comprehensive analysis quark lepton observables within general effective field theory. Observables studied include rare meson decays, flavor oscillations neutral mesons, dipole moments. derive bounds on couplings as function its mass, consistently taking into account lifetime branching ratios. further calculate effects that unavoidably induced by running matching between new physics scale measurements. This allows us to benchmark models in which only single (flavorless or flavor-universal) coupling SM is at scale, this context we highlight complementarity competitiveness constraints derived from collider, beam dump astrophysical find searches for ALPs produced decays provide some strongest MeV-GeV mass range, even most flavorless models. Likewise, discuss interplay flavor-conserving flavor-violating leptons, finding generally depend strongly both. Additionally, analyze whether can explanation various experimental anomalies including those observed B-meson measurements ATOMKI KTeV experiments, anomalous magnetic moments muon electron.

Evading Astrophysical Constraints on Axion-Like Particles
Stellar energy loss arguments lead to strong constraints on the coupling φγγ of a light axion-like particle to two photons. Helioscopes, like CAST, are able to put competitive bounds. The PVLAS experiment has recently observed a rotation of the polarization of a laser propagating in a magnetic field that can be interpreted as the effect of a quite strong φγγ coupling. We present scenarios where...
متن کاملThe Gammev Suite of Experimental Searches for Axion-like Particles
We report on the design and results of the GammeV search for axion-like particles and for chameleon particles. We also discuss plans for an improved experiment to search for chameleon particles, one which is sensitive to both cosmological and power-law chameleon models. Plans for an improved axion-like particle search using coupled resonant cavities are also presented. This experiment will be m...
متن کاملGamma Ray Bursts via emission of axion-like particles
The Pseudo-Goldstone Boson (PGB) emission could provide a very efficient mechanism for explaining the cosmic Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs). The PGBs could be produced during the merging of two compact objects like two neutron stars or neutron star black hole, and then decay into electron-positron pairs and photons at distances ∼ 100− 1000 km. In this way, a huge energy (up to more than 10 erg) can be...
متن کاملPlasma-based wakefield accelerators as sources of axion-like particles
We estimate the average flux density of minimally-coupled axion-like particles generated by a laserdriven plasma wakefield propagating along a constant strong magnetic field. Our calculations suggest that a terrestrial source based on this approach could generate a pulse of axion-like particles whose flux density is comparable to that of solar axion-like particles at Earth. This mechanism is op...
متن کاملPolarization mesurements of gamma ray bursts and axion like particles
A polarized gamma ray emission spread over a sufficiently wide energy band from a strongly magnetized astrophysical object like gamma ray bursts (GRBs) offers an opportunity to test the hypothesis of axion like particles (ALPs). Based on evidences of polarized gamma ray emission detected in several gamma ray bursts we estimated the level of ALPs induced dichroism, which could take place in the ...
